Thank you for stopping by Our American Travels to check out Silver Dollar City New Food 2015.
Silver Dollar City Theme Park has several new food items this year. Celebrate America is Silver Dollar City theme for 2015. What are the new food items?
Silver Dollar City New Food
We could not wait for Silver Dollar City to open this year. We are fortunate to get a chance to visit Silver Dollar City several times a year. Branson makes a great getaway for a long weekend or even a long day trip for us. This year I was excited to check out the new food they added to help celebrate their theme for 2015 which is “Celebrate America.”
We have several people in our family when someone gets a treat at the park we all share it. That way everyone gets to taste 6 or 7 different things. Each person picks what they want and when they want to eat it, and then everyone gets to try it. Sharing our treats work for us. After everyone enjoys a couple of small bites, we still have room to try other favorite foods at Silver Dollar City.
That brings me to the following Silver Dollar City treats we recently tried. They were all incredibly delicious
Outlaw Run Funnel Cake
Outlaw Run Funnel Cake named after Silver Dollar City’s latest roller coaster that opened last spring “Outlaw Run.” The funnel cake is covered in caramel, chocolate, and powdered sugar. It was delicious but a lot of sugar.
Red Velvet Funnel Cake
We shared this Red Velvet Funnel Cake with cream cheese icing and powdered sugar. New this year was a Liberty Funnel Cake. It was not offered where we stopped to get a funnel cake, so we ended up with this red velvet one. I believe the Liberty Funnel Cake is also a red velvet funnel cake with cream cheese icing, but the icing is colored blue and white. It looked stunning. How can you go wrong with a funnel cake?
Apple Pie Kettle Corn
Silver Dollar City has a much larger Kettle Corn store for 2015. You cannot help but buy a bag of Kettle Corn after smelling it all over the park and then watching them make it. Their new favor this year is this Apple Pie Kettle Corn. Yes, it tastes like a piece of apple pie.
Tom’s Handmade Pretzels is where we found this delicious Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel with Chocolate Chip Dip and this Ten Inch Pretzel Dog on a stick.
The Chocolate Chip Dip was appetizing. I guess it is a mixture of cream cheese, chocolate, and chocolate chips.
Delicious Pretzel-wrapped around a hot dog with cheese on top.
Southwestern Chicken Skillet at Dockside
Silver Dollar City is famous for it skillet dishes. The skillet dishes are made enormous cast iron skillets. The skillets are bigger than a car tire.
This Southwestern Chicken Skillet at Dockside is new this year. It has flavorful Southwestern seasoned chicken, vegetables, rice, black beans, and corn. I love that they served this southwestern chicken skillet in a handheld bread cone. It is similar to the bread cone filled with Mac & Cheese from Disney World. See my post on how I made one of these bread cones. I also make a similar Southwestern Chicken Skillet often. It is super easy to make and delicious. I will be adding it soon. I decided to try some rice in my chicken skillet. Easy Southwestern Chicken Skillet is coming soon on my recipe blog Recipes for our Daily Bread.
Red Velvet Cinnamon Roll from Eva & Delilah’s Bakery
The bakery in the front entrance of the park is called Eva & Delilah’s Bakery. They are best known for their enormous homemade cinnamon rolls. The smell of cinnamon will draw you to the warm, ooey-gooey, melt in your mouth cinnamon rolls. The bakery not only sells the cinnamon rolls in the morning, but they box them up for you to take with you and enjoy at home. While the cinnamon rolls are probably what the bakery is known for, they also have flakey fruit-filled turnovers, breakfast sandwiches, sticky pecan buns, cheese sticks, pretzels, cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, smoked ham & cheddar rolls, and Kolacky.
The Kolacky is a sweet yeast bread roll with smoked sausage. The Kolacky is a family favorite, but usually, we get a variety of things and all share. That way, we can taste everything.
This Red Velvet Cinnamon Roll is new this year. It was just as amazing as everything in this bakery. They also have a new Root Beer Glazed Cinnamon Roll, which I cannot wait to try next time. You can sit in the bakery and watch the baker make cinnamon rolls and other treats all day long. You must be a foodie when you enjoy watching the baker creating his special treats more than riding any rides in the park.
