Thank you for stopping by Our American Travels to see my review on Burris Farm Market and Best Strawberry Shortcake.
Burris Farm Market located in Loxley, Alabama just off I-10 is a favorite family stop. It not only has a vast supply of fresh fruits and vegetables but incredibly fresh local seafood and a bakery. Like most travelers headed to the beautiful snow white beaches in Alabama, I have been stopping at Burris every since it open in 1986.
The main reason I stop at Burris Farm Market is to get an unforgettable Fresh Strawberry Shortcake. It is served in a bowl full of strawberries and juice on top of a delicious sweet biscuit. The fresh juice soaks in the amazing biscuit. Next, they top the strawberry shortcake off with ice cream and whipped cream. It comes overflowing out of the bowl and enough for a couple of people to share. This fresh strawberry shortcake is truly worth stopping at Burris.
Another family favorite treat is one of their fresh berry cobblers. They have many different kinds of cobblers including peach, pecan, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, and more. The blackberry cobbler is a personal favorite, but they are all incredibly delicious. Burris Farm Market’s Key Lime Pie was featured in Southern Living Magazine. Casey, my son’s favorite thing to get at Burris Farm Market is a whole pecan pie. It is made with local pecans. I am not talking about a piece of pie. He gets an entire pie and a fork and eats on it for a day. Sometimes, it might last a couple of days while we are on vacation.
