Why did we love Dogwood Canyon?  Do not miss this family fun place in Missouri!

You may not know Dogwood Canyon was bought by Johnny Morris in 1990.  WHO IS HE?  Johnny Morris is the founder of Bass Pro Shops.  It is currently run by Dogwood Canyon Foundation. Why did we love Dogwood Canyon? Do not miss this family fun place in Missouri!

Because I have many beautiful pictures of elk, bison, deer, waterfalls, ponds, fish, the chapel, and more, this is my second of two posts on this Nature Park.  My first post here…

This first post was all about the beautiful Waterfalls and landscaping in Dogwood Canyon Park.

This post is about the Bison/Buffalo at Dogwood Canyon.  I have also included pictures of the Deer, Elk, and Long-Horned Cows on the property.   My boys wanted to see Bison for their 18th birthday, so we saw some amazing Bison at Dogwood Canyon during our Wildlife Tram Tour.  The tram tour is 2 hours long and one of the best tours I have ever had.  A lot of the animals will come right up to the tram.  Do not worry!  The bison could come up that close but typically lie around enjoying the sun instead.

Besides seeing enormous beautiful bison, some of the other animals included lots of longhorn cows and a beautiful crystal clear pond filled with fish.

Dogwood Canyon is located in Missouri, but the park winds down into Arkansas.

It is a 30-minute drive southwest of Branson, MO and right on the Arkansas border.  In fact, you will see during the tour that some of the Nature Park are located in Arkansas. Why did we love Dogwood Canyon? Do not miss this family fun place in Missouri!

Surprisingly, Dogwood Canyon has an excellent cafe.  The Bison Burger below was fantastic!  Club Sandwich at Dogwood Canyon - Why did we love Dogwood Canyon? Do not miss this family fun place in Missouri!

  1. Amazing Diane and definitely looks like you got your money’s worth on this outing. Seriously, did look like a ton of fun and that burger at the yum, too! Thank you again for sharing and have a wonderful Friday now 🙂

    • Janine,

Dogwood Canyon was truly Beautiful. We had no idea it even existed. We will definitely be back.
Thanks so much for checking out my post.

  2. Love reading your Branson posts! My parents had a cabin near Lampe in the 80’s and we visited a lot. Now, I’m finally going back, and taking my own kids. I’m always looking for good deals. Where’s the best place to buy tickets for the attractions (not shows, I read that post)? Before you go, or after you get there? Is there a reputable website to purchase discount tickets? I’ve done some research on the web, and found decent deals, just not sure if they are the best deals. If I missed this in any of your posts, I’m sorry. Thank you for sharing your adventures!

    • Karla,

I am so thrilled you have been to Branson and you found my travel blog. We live three hours away and visit at least 2 to 5 times a year. It is a great place to take the entire family on vacation. You will have clean family fun.

As far as buying tickets, the only place I can recommend for discount tickets is I have used them many times. They do not have tickets to everything but they have the best deals on the tickets they sell.

      I hope this helps.
      Many blessings,
      Diane Roark
