Complaint: Rebooking made us miss the trip anywayChris from Toronto, ON | Customer Service Punctuality & Speed | Reviewed September 3, 2026
★☆☆☆☆ 1.3

Our original flight was cancelled and Tropic Air automatically moved us onto a connection that looked impossible from the start. Staff at FRA kept saying the new 17:55 departure was the only option, but by the time we landed the onward gate was already closed. What bothered me most was being told to call support while standing in the airport with hotel nights already paid for.

Review: Helpful crew after a long connectionMichael from Brooklyn, NY | Customer Service Staff | Reviewed February 9, 2026
★★★★★ 4.8

We came off a long international leg exhausted and still had one more flight to go. The crew on Tropic Air 9N448 noticed several people were connecting onward and made a point of checking who needed gate information. It was not fancy service, just thoughtful and human, which mattered after a long day.

Review: Not perfect, but the crew communicated wellGeorge from San Diego, CA | Staff Punctuality & Speed | Reviewed May 27, 2026
★★★★☆ 4

The flight was not perfect and we did leave late, but the crew kept explaining what they knew. On Tropic Air 9N485, they gave connection updates before landing and reminded passengers which bags would arrive at the regular claim. I can handle a delay much better when the communication is honest.

Complaint: No ownership after a missed connectionPatricia from Chicago, IL | Customer Service Punctuality & Speed | Reviewed September 3, 2026
★☆☆☆☆ 1.3

Once the connection was missed, every person pointed somewhere else. Airport staff said to call, the call center said to ask the airport, and the app kept showing options that disappeared before I could select them. Nobody sounded responsible for getting us to the destination anymore.

Complaint: Gate updates came too lateTanya from Austin, TX | Punctuality & Speed Online & App | Reviewed February 9, 2026
★★☆☆☆ 1.6

The app changed first, the airport screen changed later, and the people at gate E6 still had no explanation. By the time someone finally said the 17:55 departure was delayed, several passengers had already missed the chance to adjust their connections. The delay was frustrating, but the silence made it worse.

Complaint: Staff treated simple questions like a problemMary from Kansas City, MO | Staff Customer Service | Reviewed May 27, 2026
★☆☆☆☆ 1.4

People at gate A4 were asking normal questions about vouchers, hotel options, and whether the delay would affect connections. The answers kept changing, and one staff member spoke to passengers like they were wasting time. It was the attitude, more than the delay, that made the experience feel so bad.

Review: Gate agent helped recover a forgotten phoneDesiree from Jersey City, NJ | Staff Customer Service | Reviewed September 3, 2026
★★★★★ 4.7

A phone was left with the wrong family member during boarding, and I expected that to become a mess. The gate agent at D21 stayed calm, coordinated with the people still outside the jet bridge, and got it back before the door closed. That one employee saved the trip from starting badly.

Complaint: Refund case kept restartingChristy from Orlando, FL | Refunds Customer Service | Reviewed February 9, 2026
★☆☆☆☆ 1.4

I submitted the refund form after a cancelled Sydney to Auckland trip and received a case number right away. After that, nothing was simple. Each call felt like starting over, one agent could not see the previous notes, and the email replies never gave a real date for when the money would be returned.

Review: Check-in staff caught a document issue earlyAlba from Denver, CO | Check-in Staff | Reviewed May 27, 2026
★★★★★ 4.6

The best part of this trip happened before boarding. A check-in employee at Johannesburg noticed a document mismatch and corrected it before it became a gate problem. The process took extra minutes, but it saved me from a much bigger issue later in the day.

Complaint: Wheelchair request was visible but not readyCarlos from Seattle, WA | Special Assistance Customer Service | Reviewed September 3, 2026
★☆☆☆☆ 1.1

The wheelchair request was on the reservation, but when we reached Chicago O'Hare nobody seemed prepared for it. We waited, asked twice, and almost missed the boarding window. Special assistance should not depend on finding the right person at the last minute.

Review: One agent turned a bad morning aroundVictor from Phoenix, AZ | Staff Check-in | Reviewed February 9, 2026
★★★★★ 4.5

The check-in line at Boston Logan was long enough that I expected a disaster. A gate agent near A4 noticed the tight connection on 9N781, moved the document check along, and explained exactly where to go next. It was the kind of calm help that makes a stressful airport morning feel manageable.

Complaint: Carry-on policy changed at the doorAman from Toronto, ON | Baggage Staff | Reviewed May 27, 2026
★★☆☆☆ 1.9

At gate D21, passengers with bags that had already passed the sizer were suddenly told to check them. The staff sounded annoyed when people asked whether the bags would come out planeside or at baggage claim. I would have packed differently if Tropic Air had made the rule clear before boarding started.

Complaint: Name correction became a fee and a fightMala from Canton, CT | Customer Service Sales & Marketing | Reviewed September 3, 2026
★★☆☆☆ 1.7

A minor name correction should not have taken two calls, a fee, and repeating the same passport information again. The second agent eventually fixed it, but the first case note apparently was not visible. I spent more time proving the problem than actually solving it.

Complaint: Bag showed up days late and damagedMichelle from San Diego, CA | Baggage Customer Service | Reviewed February 9, 2026
★☆☆☆☆ 1.4

We started a vacation with one suitcase missing after Tropic Air 9N892. The desk at CCU took the claim and told us to buy basic clothes, then every phone call after that gave a different answer. The bag finally reached the hotel almost two days later with a broken zipper pull, and the reimbursement offer did not come close to what we spent.

Complaint: Maintenance delay handled poorlyRenee from Brooklyn, NY | Maintenance Staff | Reviewed May 27, 2026
★☆☆☆☆ 1.4

After boarding Tropic Air 9N929, the screen at my seat froze and the crew tried restarting it twice. Then we were told there was a maintenance warning and everyone just sat there without a clear timeline. I understand safety checks, but the communication on May 27, 2026 made the whole cabin feel stuck and ignored.

Review: Not perfect, but the crew communicated wellNina from Austin, TX | Staff Punctuality & Speed | Reviewed September 3, 2026
★★★★☆ 3.8

The flight was not perfect and we did leave late, but the crew kept explaining what they knew. On Tropic Air 9N966, they gave connection updates before landing and reminded passengers which bags would arrive at the regular claim. I can handle a delay much better when the communication is honest.

Complaint: Meal voucher did not cover airport pricesStephen from Chicago, IL | Price Customer Service | Reviewed February 9, 2026
★★☆☆☆ 2

The delay stretched long enough that passengers were given meal vouchers, but the amount barely covered a sandwich at the airport. I appreciate getting something, but it felt more symbolic than useful when families were stuck waiting for hours with children.
