Disney Tips You Need! This is Top 4 Disney Character Meals You Need To Try

Eat Delicious Meal With Your Favorite Disney Character

My family and I have been blessed to have taken a little over Twenty trips to Disney World over the past thirty years.  Each time we visit, we love eating Disney Character meals?  A character meal is a perfect way to enjoy seeing the characters up close and even getting an autograph without having to stand in any lines.

Special Needs Son loves Disney Characters

My five kids are now between 14 and 25, and they still enjoy eating with the characters.   All of us enjoy seeing the smile on Caleb’s face.  Caleb is my special needs son.  He rarely speaks and has cerebral palsy and seizures, and his favorite thing in the world is going to Disney.

Caleb lights up from ear to ear.  As each character gets closer and closer to the table, his watches every move.  Caleb gets so excited with the anticipation of the characters stopping by to see him.  He is now 20 and enjoyed his visit this past January 2017, just as much as he did when he was three on his first Disney World vacation.  In fact, we all have the best time.  The main reason we could sit down, relax, eat a delicious meal while visiting with Disney characters.

Our favorite Disney character meals and why?

Cape May Cafe Disney Character Meal (Breakfast) at Beach Club

Disney’s Cape May has characters only during breakfast.

Our first choice for breakfast is Cape May.  The restaurant is bright with a cheerful beach theme.  The breakfast includes all of our favorites.  We also enjoyed the French Toast, Mickey waffles, ham, breakfast potatoes, sausage and gravy, cheese grits, pastries, and my favorite made to order Crepes.  Yes!  I had a hot and gooey Nutella Crepe with strawberry sauce on it.

Cape May Buffet

Cape May seems to have a larger selection on their buffet.  The food is always hot and incredibly delicious.  My husband loves the smoked salmon.    Besides a good breakfast, you will be visited by Minnie, Goofy, and Donald

Crystal Palace Disney Character Meal located in the Magic Kingdom

This is the only place you can eat with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet.  When you enter The Crystal Palace, you see a bright open grand area.  Like Chef Mickey’s and Cape May’s Breakfast, The Crystal Place is also a buffet.

Crystal Palace Buffet

As I approached the buffet, I notice that each item in the buffet is in pretty small dishes.  I imagine that is how they keep the food hot.  They were always refilling the serving dishes.  The food is not only hot but delicious.

Crystal Palace Lunch

This past trip we ate Lunch at The Crystal Palace, but we have also enjoyed their character breakfast.  Just a side note, you can eat dinner with Pooh too.  We enjoyed an array of food from salad, soup, bread, carved roast, fish, chicken, shrimp, desserts and soft serve ice cream.

Garden Grill Disney Character Meal (Dinner) at Epcot in The Land

The Garden Grill Atmosphere

At far as the environment goes, The Garden Grill is our favorite place.  The restaurant revolves in a circle as you see scenes from Living With The Land.   You will see the rainforest, farmhouse, thunderstorm, sandstorm and prairie from your table.  The tables on the first level of the restaurant are wrap around booths plenty big enough for our family of six plus grandma.  The food is fresh food.

From The Farm To The Table

From the farm to the table describes The Garden Grill.  A lot of the food is grown in the Land.  The all you can eat family style dinner favorites include a delicious salad, sliced turkey and dressing,  garden vegetables, buttermilk mashed potatoes, pot roast, sausages, and our family favorite mac & cheese.  You can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the characters at The Garden Grill.

Chef Mickey’s Disney Character Meal (Breakfast) Buffet

In past years, Chef Mickey’s has not been a favorite family place.  You may have seen a review I did on Chef Mickey’s a few years back here.  We end up back at Chef Mickey’s because, my son, Caleb, loves it.  And Again, we will do just about anything to see his huge smile.  He never asks for anything at least we can eat at Chef Mickey’s.  But…. This time was different.  We enjoyed it.

What was the difference in our Chef Mickey’s visit this year?  This visit in January 2017, was the first time we have ate at Chef Mickey’s without having small children screaming right next to us.

Chef Mickey’s is more of a Party Atmosphere

You can party and visit with Minnie, Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald Duck.  The characters dance in the aisles.  The kids are excited about everything.  We have sat beside many screaming babies over the years.

Again, we had a great time this past January 2017.  The food is good.  Our server was great, and the characters were lots of fun.  Remember, my kids are grown, and we still enjoyed it.  If you have small children or a special needs child, Chef Mickey’s is a must.  When you visit Disney World Contemporary Resort, you can find it on the fourth floor.  We enjoyed the scrambled eggs, Mickey waffles, buttermilk biscuits and gravy, pancakes, omelet and more.

Cinderella’s Royal Table

In this review, I did live out Cinderella’s Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom.  If you have a little princess, Cinderella’s Royal Table is a great place to eat especially if your children love Disney’s princesses.  My teenage and young adult boys never want to go there, but they did when they were small.  My oldest daughter loved it when she was little too.
