Oyster Oyster House Fresh Seafood - Gulf Shores & Mobile, Alabama

The Original Oyster has two locations.  One in the beautiful snow white beach of Gulf Shores, Alabama and their second place is in my hometown of Mobile, Alabama.

If you are headed to Gulf Shores, you will want to check out our favorite place to stay, The Caribe and our Dolphin Tour

The Mobile location is on Battleship Parkway in Spanish Fort, Alabama just minutes away from downtown Mobile.  It sits on Mobile Bay and overlooks the beautiful water.  See Mobile Bay picture below. The Gulf Shores location is on Hwy 59.  It is just minutes away from the amazing snow beautiful white beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The Original Oyster House has won many awards over 30 years.  They serve simply classic southern seafood that I grew up on including lots of different fish.   The Original Oyster House food is fresh, seasoned, flavorful, and amazing!  You honestly cannot go wrong with anything on their menu.  I should know I have been eating at the Original Oyster House since they opened in 1983.  Some of my family’s favorite menu items from Original Oyster House include:

  • Fried Pickles – This is always a family favorite appetizer along with the alligator bites.

  • Alligator Bites

  • Fried Green Tomatoes

  • Hushpuppies

  • Crab claws

  • Crawfish tails

  • Lump Crabcakes

  • Fire-grilled Oysters – My husband and oldest son’s favorite is Original Oyster House Famous Fire-Grill Oysters.  They have lots of butter, garlic, and cheese and are delicious.

  • Po-Boys from fish, oyster, soft shell crab, shrimp and more  You can never go wrong with a Po-Boy.  My favorite is the fried shrimp Po-Boy or the Blackened Grouper Po-Boy.

  • Fried Shrimp

  • Shrimp and Grits

  • Shrimp Alfredo Pasta

  • Grouper and Grits

  • Grouper Tacos

  • Seafood Platter

You cannot leave The Original Oyster House without getting a piece of their Key Lime Pie and a piece of their Peanut Butter Pie.  Both their Key Lime pie and their Peanut Butter Pie are the best pies ever.

  • Key Lime Pie

  • Peanut Butter Pie

The following pictures are some of my personal favorite menu items from The Original Oyster House.  The grouper is fantastic, but the shrimp has always been a favorite of mine.  I normally talk one of my kids into getting one and I get the other.  We split these dishes for the best of both worlds.
