Shops In Juneau Alaska

My favorite store was the Cariloha shop.  Everything in it from t-shirts to sheets was made from bamboo.  That was incredible how bamboo sheets could be so much softer than cotton.

Even though it was a typical cloudy June day in Juneau, the temperature was perfect for walking around and exploring the city.  Like Skagway and Ketchikan, Juneau offers lots of shops for tourists to explore like: Diamonds International, Tanzanite International, Effy Jewelers, Del Sol, Cariloha, Alaska Knifeworks, and many other stores.  Juneau’s most famous attraction is the Mendenhall Glacier.  It is about a 15-minute drive from downtown Juneau.  The glacier is twelve miles long.

History of Juneau Alaska

Juneau Alaska was one of our ports of call while onboard the Disney Wonder.  Both Jerry and Casey had to get their picture made with Sarah while in Juneau or at least with her cardboard cutout.  Juneau has a population of around 30,000 people. It is located in the Gastineau Channel and only accessible by air or sea. While we were in Juneau, we regularly saw airplanes taking off and landing on the water. Besides the float planes, Juneau has a regular airport.

We loved our visit to Juneau Alaska.  Juneau has been the capital of Alaska since 1906.  Sarah Palin, Juneau’s most famous politician, was the governor of Alaska from December 2006 to July 2009.

It was great to meet you and your precious family on the Alaskan cruise. I’m disappointed that we didn’t make it to Tracy’s! I love King Crab! The things we did see were amazing! But not as amazing as Max Lucado, SCC, Brandon Heath & all the rest. Inspiring, to be sure!

    • Hey girl,

It was such a pleasure meeting you too. We arrived home around midnight last night and I am missing everyone including you today. I totally agree the things we saw were amazing but the things we experienced with God were priceless. I have so many posts to write about our Alaska 2016 adventures including Tracy’s. It has grown so much in the past 4 years since we visited the first time.

Many hugs and many many blessings!
      HAPPY 4TH JULY
