Louie and Red Head Lady Restaurant in Mandeville, LA

Since Louie and TheRed Head Lady aired, people from all over the world have been checking out this great restaurant in Mandeville, LA.  They have a World Map hanging in the restaurant with push-pins in it representing people flying in from all over the world to visit Louie’s.

We lived in Mandeville, LA for 6 years and Louie and The Red Head Lady was definitely one of our favorite restaurants, serving New Orleans style seafood at reasonable prices.  It is a Mom and Pop restaurant where their family works and treats you like part of the family.

All you can eat fried shrimp platter. These shrimp are wonderful. They are light, crunchy and seasonned just right. I can seriously put a dent in the shrimp population if Chef Louis cook them.

Ginger (The Red Head and Louis extremely welcoming wife) makes everyone feel so very special.

It is not unusual for you to be greeted by either Louie or “The Red Head” Ginger, his extremely friendly wife, on your visit.  Louie will definitely joke and cut up with you.  In other words, they welcome their guests with open arms. They take the time to even get to know their guests and make sure that each customer was happy with their food and service.  We have been there many times and this friendly personality is transferred to their staff too. Their slogan is “We are not fancy, we’re family.”  That is exactly how you will feel.

The atmosphere feels like you are sitting at home or maybe grandma’s home around some of her antiques.  Eating at my home has a very relaxed feeling. The same thing is true at Louie and The Red Head.  You do not have to worry if you drop your napkin, put your elbows on the table, or have children that are talking too loud. You will fit in at Louie’s. This place celebrates families taking the time to eat around the table together which is why The Roark family highly recommends Louie’s. My blog is all about finding things the entire family can do together to make lots of great memories. Eating at Louie and The Red Head Lady will leave your entire family with memories that they will treasure forever.  In the corner of the shop, you will find the “Shop Around the Corner” where you will find Ginger’s special jewelry pieces. Ginger is a native of New Orleans. She is very talented and designs jewelry that has a New Orleans theme to most of the pieces. If you are from out-of-town, they make great pieces to remember your trip to LA.  Louie and The Red Head Lady is located in Mandeville on Florida Street.

If you are in the New Orleans area, it will be worth a trip across the Causeway to eat a scrumptuous mouth-watering meal prepared by CHEF LOUIE at Louie and The Red Head Lady.  No matter how friendly they are, the food still has to be good.  Chef Louie’s food will not disappoint you. He truly cooks up all the food that New Orleans is famous for including breakfast favorites like shrimp and spinach scramble, jambalaya scramble, gourmet pancakes, omelets, and New Orleans specialty eggs Benedict.  For lunch they serve dishes like po-boys, salads, gumbo, crab cakes, eggplant parmesan, and fried oyster platters. All-you-can-eat fried shrimp and catfish platters are also available. For dinner, appetizers such as crab cakes, fried green tomatoes, which were featured on “DDD”, and onion rings are available. Salads, soups, and entrées such as seafood platters and pasta are also great.
