From Farm To Table College of Ozarks Best Brunch in Branson

We visit Branson often, and I love recommending things to do and places to eat.  You can see all my recommendations here.

Sunday Brunch at the College of the Ozarks  Not only is this a superb Sunday Brunch Buffet, but the overall experience is over the top.

If you are ever in Branson, Missouri, you must eat Sunday Brunch at the College of the Ozarks, at least, one time.  It is a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.  We enjoyed this brunch while celebrating my husband’s birthday.  You might think the price of $25 per person, not including your drinks, is expensive but it is so worth the price.

First of all, the setting is beautiful!  The Keeter Center is located at the entrance to the campus of College of the Ozarks.  It is an enormous lodge with several gorgeous stone fireplaces.

Dobyn’s Dining Room

The Keeter Center is where the Mabee Lodge that holds 15 luxury guest suits for nightly rental.  You can find it in the same building as Dobyn’s Dining Room.  The workers at the Keeter Center and all over the campus are students at the college.  It is a Christian College with high standards for respect, being extremely polite and helpful.  The students are required to work at the college to earn their education.  The college nickname is Hard Work University.  The students pay for their schooling by working on the Campus in a variety of different areas.  Our waiter was a pre-med student working his way through school at Dobyn’s Dining Room.

 Everything you eat is FRESH

The College has a vegetable garden, dairy farm, raises pigs, makes it own ice cream, and much more.  Everything you eat is FRESH.  Even the mints they give you after dinner are homemade and best ever.  When you enter the dining room for Sunday brunch, you are met with a huge display of desserts.

Smoked Ham College of the Ozarks in Branson

The Sunday Brunch is famous for its award-winning College of the Ozarks Smoked Ham.  Yes, they even have a smokehouse.  The ham is so tender you can cut it easily with a fork.  The breakfast buffet includes a made to order omelet and waffle station.  The salad and fruit station include beautiful ice sculptures.  The main dishes include seafood to chicken and, of course, the ham.  The food was truly award-winning in my book.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Sunday Brunch at the College of the Ozark.  I would also recommend dinner at the College.

If you did not see my post, the Best Prime Rib I have ever had at the College of the Ozarks, you might want to check it out.   While you are on campus, you can take a walking tour of the College of the Ozarks including Edwards Mill, a Weaving Studio, the Fruitcake bakery and Jelly Kitchen, the Greenhouses, the Chapel, the Tractor Museum, and the Ralph Foster Museum.

The Museum

The Museum is dedicated to the history of the Ozarks.   I would love to see the Beverly Hillbilly’s vehicle on display in the museum.   A few episodes of the Beverly Hillbilly’s was in Branson, and the vehicle is at the College.   Taking a walking tour of the College of the Ozarks is definitely on my list of things I want to do in Branson.   I look forward to writing about it this year.

If you just want to check out the college, you can enjoy homemade ice cream and some of these wonderful desserts and coffee in the lobby of the Keeter Center.

Branson Traffic tip:

Branson’s Colored Traffic Routes: Traffic in Branson: Branson has a population of 6,500 but averages 7,000,000 visitors every year. 76 Country Boulevard (the Strip) can get very crowded, especially in the evenings and on holiday weekends.  You want to make sure you pick up a Branson Traffic Map and study the different routes to avoid the congestion on 76.  The map has a red, Blue and Green Route to help you get around.  The color coded routes include the Red Route, the Blue Route, and a Yellow Route. These side roads get you out of traffic.
